Complete Automation and Electrical Solution for Decentralized District Heating Plant for Krebs A/S
Nordic SRO delivered the complete automation and electrical solution for Krebs A/S as part of the construction of a decentralized district heating plant at Holbækhave in Holbæk, Denmark.
The plant is built as a compact 40-foot insulated container solution and supplies district heating to the surrounding residential area, while the daily operation is managed by FORS A/S.
The plant is built around a 1,950 kW Viessmann hot water boiler with a Weishaupt low-NOx natural gas burner and also includes a flue gas condenser with a flue gas neutralization system, a 1.2 m³ pressurization unit, and a water treatment system with chemical dosing.
Nordic SRO delivered the complete PLC control system based on Siemens S7-1500SP programmed in TIA Portal, a Siemens 7" HMI panel for plant operation and monitoring, and integration of the Multiguard alarm notification system.
The project also included the design and delivery of electrical control panels, preparation of electrical documentation and panel drawings, as well as the complete electrical installation, including cable routing and field wiring. As part of the automation scope, Danfoss frequency converters were integrated via Profinet, ensuring reliable and efficient communication between the PLC and field devices.
Nordic SRO also participated in testing and commissioning of the plant. The project was carried out in close cooperation with Krebs A/S and has now been handed over to FORS A/S, which is responsible for the daily operation of the facility.
